Alice's Waltz
Named for Alice White, a wonderful musician and person who I've met at the Christmas Country Dance School in Berea, Kentucky.
You can hear the tune played on the nyckelharpa by Torbjörn Näsbom here. He gives it a Swedish style that is a bit different rhythmically than what it written. I love hearing what other musicians do with my tunes. I always feel that when I write a tune it is nothing more than an approximation (and usually a simplification) of what I feel - almost like a lo-res still picture of a waterfall. The waterfall changes every season and every second, and so should the tune.
